Expeditions & Events > April 2008 Diving Trip to Fishguard, Wales
Thursday 24th April '08 to Sunday 27th April '08
Ian Aitken is currently arranging a club trip to Fishguard in Wales diving from the MV Wandrin Star.

This is what Celtic Diving have to say about their vessel:
"The Wandrin Star is a 48ft, steel built vessel MCA coded for 12 passengers and 2 crew. Be safe and feel comfortable on this spacious, heavy duty purpose built boat. We are the only hard boat dive operator on the North Pembrokeshire coast. After her refit she is back in Fishguard Harbour and fully operational - with lots of new features: Anchor bracket, non slip decks, ladder to wheelhouse roof, sea toilet, new bottle racks with convenient sitting/dressing arrangement, winch, bow rails, davits for chase boat, microwave and kettles! Radar, chart plotter, auto pilot, GPS, GMDSS, VHF, sonar, oxygen first aid, full safety equipment, spacious deck, galley with free tea and coffee, always supported by our Brig tender/chase boat to pick up any stragglers or strayed divers!"
The cost will be as follows:
- Boat charter = £300/day midweek, £348/day weekends, £396/day weekends not using their accommodation
- Accommodation £18.00/night at their accommodation this ties in with the boat charter
- Air fills £3.00 per cylinder nitrox available but cost unknown at present
- Travel costs - 754miles approximately @ £30.00/person based on three people sharing a car
- Total cost arriving Thursday night diving Friday, Saturday & Sunday with two dives per day, travelling home Sunday night = £996 boat charter + £648 three nights accommodation + £30/person for air fills based on five fills for a twin set plus your £30 for petrol = £83 + £54 + £30 + £30 = £197.00/person, if we went midweek you could take £96.00 off the overall total which would be a deduction of £8.00/person. This is all based on twelve divers
Expected vis will be 4-7m at 30+m.
Minimum qualifications are Sport Diver or preferably higher as most of the wrecks are more than 30m, bit of an incentive for all you Sport Divers to get to the next level before April, but the diving will be designed to suit the minimum qualification of the group.
