- 09/06/2008 - Dry Dive places available at the James Paget Hyperbaric Chamber!
- Garret has arranged a Dry Dive in the new Chamber at the Hyperbaric unit at the James Paget Hospital!
They will take us down to 40m to induce Narcosis and give us some simple tasks to do then bring us back from 9m on 100%
After the dive there will be a presentation by the doctors and the whole experience should last 2-3 hours. They can only take 7 people in the Chamber at one time so they may be able to take14 people back to back and extra people for the presentation. They are also prepared to two weekends in a row if we have more people who want to dive (do it in two batches).
Garret has booked Sunday 2nd November at 14.00 and we can book another weekend depending on how many divers there are.

- 04/06/2008 - FEATURE: Proposed shark fishing off Great Barrier Reef
- The Queensland government is proposing to establish a dedicated shark fishery in the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area, and in other marine parks in Queensland. They are also planning to allow shark finning in the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area and in the Marine Parks of Moreton Bay and the Great Sandy Straits. - If you've got an old mobile phone gathering dust in a drawer, or are about to throw away some old inkjet cartridges, consider sending them to the Marine Conservation Society. Read more about the recycling appeal here.

- Unfortunately due to lack of interest, Ian's proposed diving trip to Fishguard in Wales will not be going ahead.

- 13/01/2008 - Dinner Dance 2008 - Reminder!

- 13/01/2008 - Rebreather Try Dive - Petans, February 2008
- We’re doing a rebreather try dive on a Wednesday evening in February (date to be confirmed but probably the 13th). It will be held in Petans deep (3m) pool near the airport, and includes a full training familiarisation session, followed by a 20 minute session in the pool. You’ll also get an SDC sticker for your logbook. The cost should be around £20. Places are very limited, contact Paul if you’re interested.
