We will be taking one of the clubs 2 ribs, namely Spare Rib for a five day dive trip to Plymouth in September.
Plymouth has long been the south coast of England’s diving mecca offering such wrecks as the James Eagan Layne (24mtrs), the Persier (28mtrs), the Elk (32mtrs), the Scylla (26mtrs), the Rosehill (32mtrs) and the Maine (32mtrs).
In addition to some of the best wreck diving in the UK, Plymouth also offers some of the best scenic diving available in the UK with such sites as the Eddystone Reef, Hands Deep, Fairylands and Hillsea point. Plymouth has a maritime history second to none.
In 1620 the Pilgrim Fathers set sail for North America from Plymouth Barbican, in addition Sir Francis Drake was said to be playing bowls on Plymouth Hoe when he was informed of sightings of the invading Spanish Armada in 1588.
